The Old Court House is a traditional thatched country Inn, family owned and managed. The building is steeped in history - the front part of the ’T‘ shaped building dates from 1633 or earlier and was at that time (if not previously) a local Court.
The original Charles 1st Coat of Arms, sympathetically restored remains! At around seven feet square this plaque can properly be described as "spectacular". The Coat of Arms is now to be found in its original location, currently one of our Bed and Breakfast Rooms.
The Inn was visited by King Charles I in 1634 whilst on his 1st tour of the West Country in a wheeled carriage.
The Inn has a traditional bar area, serving a good range of Cask (CAMRA Good Beer Guide) and Keg Ales and Ciders, Traditional Home Cooked food (Scores on Doors 5*). Food can be served in the Bar, Separate Dining Room or Garden. Children and Dogs with well behaved owners are welcome!
The Inn provides traditional Pub Games, including Skittles (separate Skittle Alley/Function Room), Darts, Karem, Table Skittles, Shove H'Penny, Shut the Box and even K'Nobble for a Round of Drinks!
