The Gnome Reserve and Wild Flower Garden was founded in 1979 - it is 4 acres in size!
Roughly half is in a beautiful old beechwood, with stream running through, home to most of our gnomes, enjoying their various activities
The other half is The Wild Flower Garden, which contains about 250 different species of wild flowers, herbs, grasses and ferns. Because of its diversity, it attracts insects, butterflies, birds and other wildlife, being often full of bird song. Some of the gnomes and pixies live there too!
The whole 4 acres is a magical, enchanted area which is very beautiful and encourages the imagination in an immensely fun loving way. It is for children and also the child within adults of all ages.
Visitors can usually see the different stages in the process of modelling, kiln firing and hand painting of each individually made indoor pottery pixie and gnome.
Also on display in the Museum is a collection of antique gnomes, which now number over 70 - "Millers Collectables" included most of them in their 1996 edition.
Why not enjoy a Devon Cream Tea, Homemade Sandwiches, Cakes in our shop, where paintings and Prints by the founder Ann Atkin are also available. Other facilities include toilets (disabled friendly), baby changing facilities and a picnic area. Dogs on leads are welcome.
